Many use Fitbit Charge HR as a device for weight loss.
This tracker is claimed water-resistant, according to the manufacturer; however, there are some videos say it is not waterproof.
Wondering whether or not the users can swim with it, right?
Today, we will discuss: “Is the Fitbit Charge HR waterproof?”
When I do the searching on Google, I saw a topic on Fitbit’s own support page said that Fitbit Charge HR is water-resistant, meaning it is rainproof and splash-proof. The tracker can stand up to sweaty workouts and raining days; nevertheless, it’s a no if you want to swim or shower with the Charge HR.
About the Fitbit Charge HR waterproof case, please keep in mind that it is water-resistant, not waterproof. It is sweat, rain, and splash-proof; yet, swim-proof or shower-proof is not available.

I had used the Charge HR before – the interesting part is I completely forgot about the waterproof issue and kept wearing it when bathing every day. Surprisingly it still worked fine for me…the only regrettable thing is that you can’t swim with it.

5 Ways to Make Your Charge HR Waterproof
Without getting the Waterfi Fitbit, you still enable to get your super cool fitness tracker wet, trust me.
The question is: how can you do that?
It’s never a good idea to use rubber cement or any waterproofing material to coat the tracker. I’m not going to suggest you do that as it will surely void the product’s warranty and block the charger port as well.
My solution, instead, is to put the tracker into other waterproof items so that it can be handy and dry. A Ziploc bag is a good option to protect your Charge HR device, but there is no safe way to attach the bag to you.
Consider the following tips:
- Waterproof Match Case – Put the tracker inside the case and have it in your pocket for safety.
- Waterproof Pill Container – There’s a key loop which can be used for an attachment to your swim trunks or a swimsuit’s strap.
- Witz Keep it Safe Case – Purchase the one with carabiner so that you can attach it inside your trunks or a strap on your swimsuit.
- Waterproof Cell Phone Arm Band – This item will keep the tracker to be on your arm firmly.
- DRYPAK Waterproof Wallet – Not only the tracker, you can put all necessary things inside the wallet and tuck it into your swimsuit.
When using the items above, they ensure to keep your tracker stay in place. I’m not really sure about the durability of each accessory as those products receive mixed reviews.
